Target Practice Board

Last Christmas, we got all the Sarza kids (including me, my brother and Mr. Snuggles haha) a six-barrel Nerf gun and boy, did we play all afternoon. I thought I could not keep up with my teen cousins but I guess I was wrong. I can still run like a child! LOL. This always comes a surprise to me because I don’t really engage in physical activities. :P

One word — FUN!

We had so much fun that one of my uncles also bought guns for himself and my Papa. :) Imagine this very flimsy, plastic yellow toy gun holstered onto my 60-year old father’s shorts. Is that dope or what?!

Anyway, last weekend our family had our usual get-together over at my Lola’s house (grandma) andĀ I made an improvised target practice board for the family.

I’m not sure if you recognize him. :P

hihihi.

hint: “Luke, I’m your father!” LOL

Do excuse my painting skills. I wanted it to be black in the beginning but I found that I don’t have black watercolor paint in stock. The nearest was dark blue. :P

Mr. Snuggles and I got him 2 faithful minions called “Polphins”.

They’re a cross between a Dophin and a Penguin.

Poor little Polphins. By the end of the evening, they were almost deflated because they suffered from too many shots from us. :)

Family + Nerf + a sunny Saturday afternoon + awesome food = a fun get-together!

Bento Box Supplies

There’s this new Japanese outlet store Mr. Snuggles and I are so in love with — Saizen. Well, relatively new to us because we don’t go out that much. :-P Anyway, we splurged a little and I just had to show you a few of the items I got. I’m not sure if I have told you about the two bento boxes I got from another local Japanese outlet store which I haven’t tried using yet (what a shame! it has been a year since I got them). Now there’s enough reason for me to use these boxes because I’ve got extra “gadgets” that can surely make bento box designing a breeze. :)

I’d like you to meet my bento boxes:

My very yellow bento complete with chopsticks!

The colorful silicone food dividers are from Saizen. :)

How cute is this triangle lunch box? Perfect for onigiri!

Check out these tiny sauce holders! The set comes with a little dropper too. :)

Oh dear, they’re just the most adorable things! a chicken?! really?? :P As the Japanese would call it “Kawaii!”

See how tiny they are?

Happy year of the rabbit!

More food dividers on the left and little mayonnaise containers. :)

These will help me decorate (and play with) my food. The punchers on the left aids in making assorted little circles, perfect for the eyes, nose, mouth, etc. The face puncher (sounds weird haha) makes the job of creating faces on food easy.

Little fruit toothpicks. :)

Here’s something that can help me make Onigiri :) Instead of making them by hand, this bangle-like tool can make my Onigiris look like they’re professionally-made.

Thank goodness for the illustrated instructions!

Included in the set are plastics where you can place your onigiri. The illustration below is what it should look like once you’ve wrapped your rice goodies. :)

Lastly, meet my sandwich “puncher”.

I’m leaving you guys with this little bunny sandwich :)

I hope this bunny will brighten your day as much as it has brightened mine!

p.s. How do you like my new photo frame? Let me know. :P

Authenticity And Other Creative Things

I can already smell Christmas when I look at my schedule. teehee. :)

What is it about the Holiday season that everyone just starts to rush? Rush to where? hmmmm. Maybe parties. I’d rush there myself! I’d rush for good food. lol. Or maybe not. I’m trying to unload any “rushed” feeling because I have had that feeling since a kid. I’d like to take things slow now, mindful of every moment and being in the present. :) Sounds like a plan. haha.

Anyway, I haven’t told you this before but Mr. Snuggles and I are joining a Zen Meditation class every Wednesday and because of our attempts to make our Wednesdays a Saturday and vice versa, we are now so confused with the days we don’t know which day we’re supposed to take a weekend vacation! lol. I digress. Going back, one of the volunteers at the temple invited us to join the book club! woohoo! I’ve never been to a book club since high school!

We will be reading a book each month and we’ll have a discussion every last Thursday of the month. And what’s best is that we’re getting the books for free! Well at least that’s what I know because they gave us a copy of our first book for free. :)

Here’s what we’re reading this month:

Authenticity: Clearing the Junk: A Buddhist Perspective

We got our copy yesterday and with all the things lined up on my to-do list, I have yet to start reading the first chapter. I read the introduction though. Does that count? haha.

Apart from the book club, my brother and I got ourselves a keyboard piano! The only musical instrument I know how to play is the flute and my brother doesn’t even considerĀ the specific flute instrument I played as a real musical instrument. (I have no idea why he thinks so!)

So this is my first time to learn how to play a real instrument. :) I’m excited because I get to tap into another part of my creative side. As soon as I know how to play, I’ll make a video for all of you and play for you guys!

I have to somehow incorporate these two fun and creative activities into my jam-packed schedule. teehee. If orders were snowflakes, I’d be dancing in snow right now! :D Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining of the Christmas rush orders. I’m glad we’re busy and dancing in snow!

Also, I’ve been designing milk cartons like there’s no tomorrow. A lot of clients liked the Christmas cartons I designed and are now asking for customized boxes! woopee! :) I hope you’ll take your time to visit our Facebook page here and hit LIKE. :)

Merry Christmas to you! — From me and my little helper Elf. teehee :)
