Easter Egg Cards + A Vegetarian Easter Surprise!

Happy Easter everyone!

It has been a while since I gave away a freebie so I thought it would be nice to give you guys some treat for the upcoming Easter celebration. :)

If you’re tired of preparing Easter Eggs for your Easter Egg Hunt, you might want to make things a little different by giving them egg-shaped cards.

Instead of hiding real eggs, this year you can try hiding Easter Egg cards with little love notes written on the inside for your kids, husband/wife, or even friends to find. When I was a kid, I often wondered what to do with the eggs I find during the hunt. I never really liked eating eggs alone as I like them prepared together with some other ingredients as in a cake. I mean, who wouldn’t love cake??!! So anyway, I never really enjoyed Easter Egg Hunt because once when I asked my Aunt what I should do with the eggs I found, she told me that I am supposed to eat all of them for good luck. Blech!!!

So being an ovo-lacto vegetarian (who does not eat eggs ALONE lol), I will be making egg cards with my little love notes and spreading them around the house for my family to find. Or maybe inside the cards I can write something like: “You win an hour’s worth of massage from me”. teehee.

This sounds fun! As I write this, I am brainstorming the messages I’m going to write on my egg cards. I will definitely show you photos of my messages and where I will hide some of them but right now I still can’t because, believe it or not, my husband Mr. Snuggles is my no. 1 blog fan and so he earnestly reads my posts and this will let him into some of my surprise notes. teehee. :)

When I made the printable cards, I though about having a vegan take on the Easter Egg Hunt. And so I made this for all vegans out there and all those who’d like a funnier take on the egg hunt this Easter:

Egg-plant, get it? :P

I think it would also be nice if the Easter bunny held an eggplant instead of an egg. Like this:

Cute right? :) Besides, bunnies are vegetarians so the eggplant makes better sense than an egg. :) LOL

Oh, by the way, here are the download links for the Easter Egg and Eggplant Cards! Enjoy!

My Comeback Gift + Halloween Printables

Hi everyone!

I’m wondering if you ever missed me. hahaha :)

I’ve been away for so long that I wanted to give you a big comeback gift and so please stay until the end of this post so I can give you my “gift of appreciation” for sticking around even if I haven’t been around lately.

Okay, so I’ve been a little busy with this lately:

It’s my first pattern collection pack filled with 50 fun designs which you can use for your creative projects. :) I’m launching it in a while with a limited-time offer of 50% discount! :) So watch out for the post within the day.

Okay, so where did I left off? Cats? Ah yes, cats. My kittens are growing so fast and they’ll be up for adoption in a week or so. Every time I put a kitten up for adoption, I have such a heavy feeling knowing I’ll miss them. But then again I feel so thankful that there are kind souls out there who’d love to take care of these furry babies. :)

Anyway, did I tell you guys that Mr. Snuggles and I went to Taiwan to attend the 2011 Youth Seminar on Life and Ch’an? (No of course I haven’t! Issa, you haven’t been around! What a silly question! Pardon me.)

We were one of the 19 Philippine delegates. I felt really blessed to be able to see the Fo Guang Shan monastery. The seminar is like that of World Youth Day… I think. hahaha. Ch’an is the Chinese word for Zen. And so back in Taiwan, we tried to learn about Zen and how we can apply this concept to daily life. Pretty neat, right? And if I’m not mistaken, they will do this each year during summer break. Free meals, lodging (the monastery is so posh!), seminar and tour! Apart from those exciting perks, one of the best was the part where we get to meet sooo many different youths from numerous countries — from Indonesia to South Africa (forgive me, my geography is THAT bad). :)

To clue you in on some of the stuff we did, here are some photos:

 Lectures and talks from Venerables

Light offering at the Buddha Memorial Center. It was so dramatic with all the 1500++ lights on the ground. Spectacular!

A lot of walking, mingling and playing around.

And of course a lot of eating. Check out my plate filled with food made from lotus flowers! This one has a lotus bud that looked like a meat ball. So cool!

Temple tours. This one looked like in one of the scenes in a Kung Fu movie. haha I was honestly waiting for Shaolin monks to appear anytime.

Walking around Xi Men Ding and eating at Modern Toilet. For those of you unfamiliar with the bowl served in front of us, it’s a replica of the squatting toilet that is widely used in most restrooms in Taiwan and other Asian countries (but not Phlippines, though). :) Filled with ice cream and dripping sauce to replicate… you know what. hahaha. Food was not all that but we get to experience eating off a toilet bowl! LOL!

Okay, enough for the photos. I don’t want to overload you.

And so now I wanna give you all my big comeback and Halloween Gift! Is it too early for Halloween? Hmmm… I don’t think so. :)

Here’s a whole slew of Halloween printables for you to download and enjoy!
