Kitty Cat Bookmarks

I don’t think I’m the only one here who adores cats. So all you cat lovers, let me hear you say ‘yay’ because I’ve got an awesome freebie for you today! :)

Just a backgrounder, Shiva recently gave birth to three cute little kittens. Sadly, only two survived. :( Naga and Eggbert are now two healthy and fat kittens.

Here are the three of them:

I know, they’re all fur without faces. LOL. Naga’s the black one and Eggbert is the tabby on the right.

Anyway, I made kitty cat bookmarks in honor of all domestic cats.

I recently read some article about people discriminating cats especially the domestic ones. From where I live, domestic cats are called Puspins (pronounced as poos-pins, just like saying “push pins” only without the H lol) or Pusang Pinoy. In the article, a couple of people shared their experience with their cats being discriminated. They shared how their Puspins were seen as “replaceable” beings and how others treated domestic cats as if they did not deserve thought, care or even love.

These domestic cats have brought warmth and an innumerable amount of cuteness in many homes and they deserve love and affection as much as any other being. :) Just because they do not have “breeds” do not mean they’re dispensable.

Anyway, on to happy things. :)

Categorized Recipe Cards

Lately I have been cooking more frequently. :) (yay!) The main reason for this is because Mr. Snuggles and I have changed our diets. We’ve been ovo-lacto vegetarians for a couple of months now and so far, it has been the best decision we ever made. It’s so hard to look for vegetarian meals here in the Philippines and unless you cook  your own food, you will die of starvation or poor nutrition. :P It’s amazing how people view meat (all kinds of meat) as an essential cooking ingredient when we can actually do away with it.

Anyway, since I’m cooking more frequently and have been concocting my own recipes, Mr. Snuggles suggested that I keep a record of all of them. And what better way to keep them than recipe cards! :D

I made colorful recipe cards which you can use to categorize your recipes into vegetables, pork, beef, seafood, and poultry OR into appetizers, soups, main course, dessert and snacks. In my case, since most of my dishes are veggie-based, the categories will be the latter. :)

And I’m sharing these recipe cards to you once again in a free, downloadable PDF file! :) (yipee!)

Have fun making delicious meals for your family with the help of these recipe cards! :)

p.s. My family, Mr. Snuggles and I are going on a week-long vacation to our province in Bicol so I guess I won’t be able to post anything for  a week hihihi not that it would matter because I have been gone for a month (since my last post) and I wasn’t even on vacation yet. :P

p.p.s. Lent is here and what better way to purify ourselves than this. Don’t forget to take this wonderful opportunity! As for me, I’m making a vow to meditate every morning while we’re in Bicol. yipee!

Gift Certificates

There have been many times when I felt like giving Mr. Snuggles something that is not store-bought (actually, make that most of the time LOL) simply because I just love making gifts for him. I made him a planner years before which included little gifts of service (teehee) that he can redeem almost everyday. I wrote down on his handmade and handwritten planner at least 3 or 4 services each week such as ‘clean your desk’ or ‘kisses before you leave’ or ‘claim your love note today’. This took me a little while to finish but it was worth it. :)

Now when he does something totally awesome for his friends or my family (e.g. do research for my Papa, etc) or for me (e.g. squeeze 56 calamansi/Philippine lemons for our morning power drink*) , it makes me want to give him something in return too. :)

This is where gift certificates come in handy. I can just give this to him anytime and he can redeem it anytime, no expiration just like my love. wahahaha! :P

Anyway, I want to share the certificates I made and hope that you would brighten someone’s day just by handing them a couple of these lovely gift certificates.

But first, check out mine:

teehee!

You can download two versions, one without a date (just like mine) and another with a date of issue. :)

Here’s the other one with a date:

These gift certificates are best printed on a thick vellum board (around 200-220 gsm would be fine).

Have fun making your own gift certificates! :)
