I was looking for a nice bracelet to go with what I was wearing the other day and found an blank wooden bangle that I can paint. It was one of the three wooden bangles that I bought back when I was in college. I got it at Divisoria — our country’s market district where people are always drawn to the low-priced goods and bargain shopping. If and when you come to Manila, please stop by at Divisoria (my family fondly calls it Divi
). Our Chinatown is situated there as well.
Here’s what my wooden bangle looked like before undergoing the make over:
I initially thought I liked it to be painted yellow but I changed my mind in the middle of painting the whole thing so I washed the paint off and replaced it with this:
And now, here’s my new and improved wooden bangle!
I wasn’t the only one in the house who was smitten with the festive colors of my new bangle.
Check out my kitten Muming who modeled the bangle as an over-sized crown:
Teehee.
She looks like an African kitty. LOL.
Oh and I just have to show you what I did with the other two when I was in college. As you can see, I loved swirls back then. Actually I still do.
And I still wear my old bangles.
This reminds me that this can be a great gift for a friend. I am actually going to save this for someone else because I promised her I would paint a bangle for her.
Hmmm…. maybe I should buy more wooden bangles.
Have a colorful week ahead!

Eating, loving, singing and digesting are, in actuality, the four acts of the mirthful opera known as freshness, and they pass like bubbles of a grit of champagne. Whoever lets them break without having enjoyed them is a entire fool.

I like them all stacked together. They would be pretty displayed on a dresser, too.

Hiya, I saw this over at fishscales and came right over. These bangles are awesome! I supposed the paint can be sealed so that it doesn’t wash off if wet. My fav is the swirley top one. Really creative! Eveshouse.blogspot.com

I always love hearing your opinions. teehee
@ Eve – yes, paint can be sealed which was why I used regular acrylic paint.
@ Tere – thank you for featuring me!

You painted some great designs on those – much nicer than a plain wooden bangle! Or should I refer to them as kitty crowns? Either way, they’re great!

hahaha
you can call them either way Megan although “Kitty crowns” sound really really funny!
