When we started planning Audrey’s baby shower, I knew I wanted to implement unique games.

Most of the baby showers I’ve seen while I was blog-hopping and researching for Audrey’s party was pretty much the same for every other shower. They had the “How Big is Mommy’s Tummy” game, “Design My Bib” activity, “Guess how many Jelly Beans are in my baby bottle”, and “Soiled Diaper” where a small diaper made out of paper is pinned on each guest’s shirt during the shower and the lucky guest who gets the soiled diaper gets a prize, etc.
And while I really liked those traditional games where two of which we have adopted for Audrey’s baby shower, I just had to try and make a relatively NEW game for the party. Since we had an intimate party, I only alloted four games.

Here are the baby shower games we played:

1. Guess How Big is Mommy’s Tummy

Guests try to guess how big the Mommy’s tummy is by using a ribbon and measuring it on their own tummies. Closest guess wins the prize.

Audrey’s a very sexy pregnant woman that when Mr. Snuggles tried to guess how big her tummy was by referencing the size to his own big tummy (mind you, he tried tucking his tummy in before he made his guess! haha), his ribbon was about 8-10 inches longer than Audrey’s actual tummy! He’s fatter than a pregnant woman! gack! LOL

This next activity is not actually a game but it was the perfect activity to inject before my next exciting game because it gave me enough time to prepare for the next one — Dirty Diapers.

I printed small cards that had the same design as the invitations where guests can make their wishes for the baby. And because guests can simply fill in the blanks, it only took them a few minutes to finish. The wish cards were inspired by this site.

I made everyone share what they wished for the baby by reading out a line or two. By the time everyone was done with their turn sharing, I knew we were all touched by the love we all shared. :)

And because I love all of you, I’m sharing the wish cards so you can use it on for your own baby or if you’re throwing your soon-to-be-mom friend a baby shower. It’s a girly card so stick around for a baby boy wish card. :) It’s in a printable PDF format that you can print out whenever you like. You can use this for a momumental birthday also like when your baby turns 1. :)

2. Dirty Diaper

Several diapers were used in this game wherein we placed food products that resembled poop and had all the guests guess what sort of food or sauce it was by letting them stick their noses in the dirty diapers and smelling each one.

Believe me, it looked so gross from afar that one of the guests really refused to sniff one of the diapers!

The food products that you can use are chocolate, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, all-around sauce, coffee, mustard, etc. I originally planned on using real food because our local cuisine like Kare-Kare, Dinuguan and even Chicken Curry would look yucky when splattered all over the diaper.

I designed small cards for the guests where they can write down their guesses. And because I really, really, truly love all of you, I’m sharing this card with you as a free printable. :)

3. Guess How Many Sour Chews Are In This Vintage Milk Bottle

Just like the traditional game, guests can guess how many sour chews are inside the little vintage milk bottle. Closest guess wins a prize and gets to take home the whole bottle of sour chews. Audrey wanted to guess as well (what can I say, the mommy we were honoring wants a prize as well! LOL) and what do you know, she won!

I’ve a little game for you. Can you guess how much I love you? Below is the printable card where guests can write down their guesses for the sour chew game. You can download the free printable below.

So you think I love you that much?

You’re wrong because I love you beyond printables. :)

4. Whose Baby’s Got Colic?

This is based on the Soiled Diaper game. Instead of giving guests tiny paper diapers which they pin on their shirt as soon as they arrive in the party, we gave them little rectangular boxes with a small baby print. I didn’t have much time to prepare for this so I just grabbed a vintage illustration of a baby over the internet and printed it out on regular bond paper. I originally wanted the baby illustration to fully cover the box so it would really look like a real baby. Maybe next time. :) Each box looked the same as every box and even weighed the same as the others.

So when guests arrived, we handed out a box to each one of them and told them that this is their baby for the night and they should take care of it well.

During the games, I asked everyone if their babies are still intact and if they’re all taking good care of it. I explained to them that babies get colic all the time. It’s one of the things that mommies have to deal with all the time when they have babies. For this game, the guest that carries a baby with colic wins a prize.

Inside one of the box is a mobile phone where Mr. Snuggles and I cleverly installed a crying baby ring tone. So when we called the mobile phone and it “cried”, we got our winner! Everyone was surprised and excited to hear the winning crying baby. teehee.

Guests really took great care of their baby throughout the whole party and they were all psyched to know how they can win with their baby. One of them even placed the baby between her boobs LOL.

A small caution though, one of our guests asked if he can have the “baby” with the mobile phone inside as his prize instead of the scrub-oil-soap prize we have prepared. Do say no if one of your guests do this unless you’re really extravagant and you want them to take home a new phone. :) teehee.

Oh by the way, have you seen the diaper cake we made for Audrey? :) It’s so girly I could cry!
