From where I live, it’s already the rainy season. We only have two seasons — summer and rain. Neat, huh? Living in the tropics definitely has its advantages when it comes to weather. We only need two sets of clothes, we don’t need to change tires and we get to enjoy the sun most of the year.

I know some of you are experiencing summer this month and I know how fun summer can be because of all the exciting summer activities you and your family can do. I remember last summer when our family would hit the pool almost every weekend and we’d all have these family gatherings where we’d eat and play all day. So with thoughts of summer running through my mind as I ate breakfast while watching the rain drizzling outside, I thought of how beautiful hibiscus flowers are and how they make me feel like it’s summer all over again.

Did I mention that I saw hibiscus flowers in Coron while we were “castaways”? Well, I saw a bunch of them and I remembered how my brother Ino and I used to make bubbles with the flowers. Instead of using laundry detergent or soap, we used Gumamela flowers (our local name for hibiscus).

If you’re one of those people who are living in a place where hibiscus flowers are abundant, did you make bubbles as well? I’d like to know :)

Hopefully these cheery hibiscus cupcake toppers will bring me some summer love once again. teehee

You can even use these as stickers by printing them on sticker paper. To use them as cupcake toppers, just print them out on an 8.5×11 thick paper or card stock and cut out the circles. If you want to have toppers that have the same color on the front and back side, print two copies of the file, cut them out and glue two same colors back to back with a stick between them. :)

Sending you some summer love wherever you may be!
