How many times a day do we pass up the chance to do the things we really love?
I presume, with all the workload we have set out for ourselves, we sometimes barely have enough time for the important things. I was reading an inspiring article a few days ago about time and how we take it for granted. This inspired me to create a jar filled with ideas on how I would like my time to be spent. I made this to remind me and Mr. Snuggles that we should take time to do things that will enrich our lives.
I want to stop procrastinating and putting off doing these special things to myself and to others. There have been countless moments when I forgot all about these little things and sometimes when I think about it, I realize with a tinge of regret that I should have done something instead of doing nothing.
For 20+ years I have followed a very strict schedule. My friends will tell you how strict I am with time and how punctual I have become. My Papa taught me that punctuality equals respect for other people and I am proud to have followed his footsteps when it comes to time. And while what he said is true, it is not actually all that. Since time is super important, I’d like to spend it in a way that can fully fill my life with happiness and love. Now, I’d like to think that I am less concerned with time and I enjoy being “still” to calm my being. Unlike before, I could not sit still as if stopping meant being unproductive. LOL. Silly me.
One thing I learned: Multitasking makes you less focused and actually leads to being less productive. Booyah! There you go, you thought multitasking speeds things up but not really. More about this on another post. Today, I’m focusing on time.
(almost got sidetracked right there!)
So every day, Mr. Snuggles and I take a dose (or more when we feel the need) of these inspiring pebbles.
We don’t drink the whole pebble though! We let our souls drink the word inside each pebble and make sure that we take time to live it.
I am sharing with you the free printable so you can have your own jar at home. I’d like to fondly think of you reaching deep into the jar and seeing you light up as you pick up a “take a time to…” task for the day or moment. If only you lived next door, I would have sent you a jar of this. But we’re miles and miles apart so I’ll just send a PDF file which you can print.
I love you very much and I’d like to share with you the things that make me happy and giddy.
Download FREEBIE: Take Time Jar Elements
How to make your own Take Time Jar:
1. Print the free Take Time Jar Elements on an A4 size plain paper, white paper is best. You can choose any paper weight.
2. Cut out the little circles filled with words.
3. Glue each circle onto the back of a clear decorative pebble. Decoupage them. You can use a glue+water mixture or any other glue base. Totally up to you.
4. While waiting for the glue to dry, cut out the cover label.
5. Wrap your jar cover with multipurpose paper or scrapbook paper. And then glue the label onto the the cover.
6. Place them in a recycled glass jar and tie a ribbon around it or you can leave it as is.
You can use this for your personal happiness or share the joy by giving these aways as gifts!
Today, I leave you with this:
I wish you’re having an enjoyable and beautiful week!

A great idea, and a lovely addition to any room. Probably will make this up and put it in my kitchen (where I seem to be most these days). Living in the moment is just as important as getting the task done, thank you for this craft to help us all to remember that.

May I ask…did you use colored paper or stones? I love the different shades of pink, blue, yellow, etc.

I love this idea!!! I just made it tonight – I am a child/adolescent therapist and will have the jar out for my clients – such a great idea THANK YOU!!! Also a quick question if you have a moment – after I glue the words to the stones (I already did that part) do I then have to put a decoupage substance over the paper or is the glue enough? Thanks!!!! I am definitely craft challenged

you can still put decoupage substance over it to make it sturdier but for me, the glue was enough.
glad you loved it!
