I have been suffering from allergic rhinitis for the past few days and now I have tonsillitis. It sucks because we’re going to the beach this weekend. Boohoo. Nevertheless, I am taking natural remedies to ease out the pain in my throat and relieve me of fever. And guess what, I still had the strength to sew and craft!
Lately I’ve been stashing lots of tissues in my bag — tissues from restaurants mostly.
I seem to forget to buy my own pack. But with this cute monster tissue holder I made, I am super excited to finally fill it with facial tissues and not those table napkins I have been using for days now. LOL.
You can download the pattern I used for free by clicking the link below.
Download FREEBIE: Tissue Holder Pattern
For the monster design, I simply cut out 5 small triangles and 2 circles (one larger than the other) and used contact cement to put glue them all together. I know I should have used something more easier to work with like super glue but the contact cement was all that I have in the house. And with my achy-throat condition, I was in no way fit to go out and buy a tube of super glue.
I also drew the word “ACHOO” and cut them out. Very easy right?
I had some scrap felt that was left from this easy project so I made a little something for my furry babies.
Yes, a Kitty finger puppet! As if they don’t have enough kitty company already!
Check out Alpa (Hindu name that means small or tiny; she was the smallest kitten from Shiva’s litter) and her new friend:
I slipped her tiny paw into the puppet.
Cutie!
Oh, and the big hand holding her still was Mr. Snuggles.

I know how you feel. In the UK we call it Hay Fever and I have suffered with since I was 15 years old. Funnily enough it only began suddenly at 15 years old.
My little 2 year old boy will love the cute tissue”dispenser”
thank you for sharing.
