Thanksgiving Note Cards

Woohoo! Thanksgiving is almost here :) And that means Christmas is just around the corner!

Wow, time flies really fast, huh? This morning I was thinking how my year was going and if I ever got the chance to fully savor the goodness of every moment of 2010. I wondered if I even had the chance to truly thank the Universe for all the overflowing and wonderful blessings.

Well, now is the perfect time to give thanks and remind myself that there’s an overflowing abundance in my life. To do that, I made note cards where every day, each of us in the family can write down something that we’re thankful for. This is also my little way of preparing our family for Thanksgiving.

It doesn’t matter if what we’re being thankful for happened in January or April, we’re just going to write them down.

Then we’ll fold them so it’ll somehow still be a secret and drop it in our Thanksgiving bowl.

And on Thanksgiving, we’ll open all the note cards and read them all!

This is for us to remember all the moments, things, places and people we are thankful for. :)

I brought my origami lotuses into the bowl and I suddenly feel warm and fuzzy. I can’t wait for Thanksgiving. :)

If you would like to do the same in your household, you can download and print out the free file, cut the note cards out and simply place them somewhere your family can see it. It would be best if you give your family members a brief explanation on what they’re supposed to do and what’s going to happen with the note cards on Thanksgiving.

Or better yet, if you’re hosting a Thanksgiving dinner or party, you can engage your guests to write down something upon their arrival and then you can all read out aloud the cards during dessert! :) It’s not only a great conversation starter but it’s also a perfect way to know what they’re really thankful for. :)

Card Drop #1 and Spontaneity

I finally got the chance to bring my cards and begin leaving traces of inspiration and love. :) I carry a bunch of cards in my wallet just in case there’s a place I want to leave some love behind.

Mr. Snuggles and I went to Pangasinan over the weekend and left two cards on the windows of the buses we were riding. Have I told you that I love bus rides? :)

Anyway, we left a card on our way to Pangasinan.

And another when we spontaneously decided to head to Baguio. We were supposed to go back to Manila that afternoon but all the buses that stopped were either going somewhere else or it was jam-packed with people going home and there were no free seats anymore. Anyway, we decided we’ll catch the midnight bus to Manila from Baguio and literally just chill (because Baguio is the coldest place in the Philippines lol) out there.

This card was the perfect one to drop because of our situation. Instead of feeling grumpy about not being able to go home as planned, we simply chose to be happy by enjoying ourselves in Baguio. I wish everyone would do the same — choose the happier option. We always have choices. :) Despite the almost unbearable cold (I know it’s not snow but for people who live in the tropics where the weather is mostly warm, it’s already winter lol) we went through because we didn’t bring jackets, we still stayed happy just by enjoying every moment of our mini, spontaneous vacation. :)

I love living a spontaneous life! How about you?

Thank You Cards

I’m a big fan of saying ‘thank you’ all the time. I’m assuming you are too so we’re on the same page and you’ll love my new freebie today. teehee.

Although I have to admit that sometimes I forget to be grateful for the little wonderful things in life because I become too focused on the puny negative ones. Anyway, I’m trying to look for clever ways to always remind me to be thankful for all good things and even the not so good things in life because, let’s admit it, everything in life IS good.

It’s the way we look at things and how we react to them that matter. :)

I made these elegant-looking Thank You cards so that I can say thank you in style. haha. I don’t know if you have felt like you really were so thankful you honestly didn’t know how to show your appreciation anymore? Like saying a simple thank you is not enough?

It’s like when your good friend helps you out with something you thought was impossible to do. Or when someone makes you feel totally light and happy all day because that someone has inspired you to become the best version of yourself. Those are what my Thank You cards are for. :)

Who are you giving these out to?

Happy thanksgiving! :P

I know it’s not thanksgiving yet, but it sure feels wonderful to thank someone today just because they are who they are. :)

So spread the love okay?
